Los vecinos piden al Gobierno de la Ciudad que cumpla con la ley de expropiación para construir allí un museo histórico
En el año 2013, la Legislatura porteña sancionó la ley de expropiación y uso público de la propiedad denominada Mirador Salaberry, ubicada en el barrio de Mataderos. Se trata de una casa de 1858 aproximadamente, cuyo dueño tiene 96 años y quien ya firmó todo para que la vivienda pueda ser expropiada. Sin embargo, el Gobierno de la Ciudad aún no cumplió ley.
“Estamos muy preocupados porque las leyes a los cinco años caducan y perderíamos todo lo hecho. Llegar a la ley de expropiación nos llevó cuatro años de trabajo”, comentó Zulema Cañas, integrante del Foro de la Memoria de Mataderos, al programa “Urbanos” en Radio Arinfo.
Sobre la propiedad, precisó: “Es única en sus características. Es una casa con mirador, una de las tres en la ciudad que sigue una moda arquitectónica de aquellos años.-Adentro tiene vitrales y se conserva igual desde aquel año”.
Los vecinos quieren que el MIrador Salaberry sea un museo y un lugar de cultura porque Mataderos “está lejos del Casco Histórico”.
“Es un barrio periférico y a veces los chicos no tienen acceso a los museos y a la historia. Sería muy bueno que se realice todo lo que está pactado en la ley. Es muy importante contar con ese espacio para Mataderos y para la Ciudad”, recalcó Cañas.
Se trata de un espacio icónico de Mataderos. El Mercado de Hacienda abrió en 1901 y la casa ya estaba. Fue hecha por un tambero llamado Juan Salaberry, que se instaló allí con toda su familia. El lugar era campo, luego se fueron loteando los terrenos y se fue haciendo el barrio primero conocido como Nueva Chicago y hoy como Mataderos. La propiedad pasó por varias manos y el actual dueño la compró con la intención de que se preserve.
“Tratamos de preservar los espacios y de que la memoria perdure. Si destruimos todo, ¿qué nos queda para las generaciones futuras?. Queda poco para apreciar lo que fue el pasado”, se planteó la integrante del Foro de la Memoria de Mataderos.
Al ser consultada sobre la respuesta de los funcionarios del Gobierno de la Ciudad, señaló: “Dicen que no hay dinero para comprar la propiedad, que no hay presupuesto estipulado”.
“El Mirador Salaberry es un ícono para nosotros. Hay ciertas cosas que nos identifican con el barrio y la Constitución de la Ciudad dice que todos los vecinos tienen derecho a preservar sus lugares”, concluyó Cañas desde los micrófonos de Radio Arinfo.
