Los barrios porteños recientemente cumplieron 143 años. La historia de su nacimiento y desarrollo
El pasado 27 de abril, los barrios de Saavedra y Núñez cumplieron 143 años. Esto se debe a que nacieron el mismo día, a partir de la iniciativa de un mismo “padre”: Florencio Emeterio Núñez.
“Núñez fundó un pueblo con el nombre de Saavedra, en recuerdo a Cornelio. Ese mismo día fundaron también la estación del ferrocarril llamada Núñez”, contó el Lic. Alberto Gabriel Piñeiro, director del Museo Histórico Cornelio Saavedra, al programa “Aquí la 13” en Radio Arinfo.
El especialista recordó que Saavedra es el único barrio con acta de fundación de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires y, aunque en un principio era un pueblo, con la incorporación de los partidos de Flores y Belgrano a la capital, se transformó en un barrio.
Asimismo, contó que el Parque Saavedra es el más antiguo de la Ciudad, es incluso anterior al Tres de Febrero de Palermo. Aunque el predio era privado, el parque era público para su uso.
“Núñez compró terrenos con el fin de lotearlos y rematarlos. Era un barrio llamado la Versalles del Norte, una zona de casas con amplios jardines. En 1873 hubo una gran crisis y su emprendimiento fracasó. La sociedad se disolvió, quedaron las propiedades y el parque quedó en manos del Banco Hipotecario. En el Siglo XX a ese terreno lo compró la municipalidad”, explicó el Lic. Piñeiro.
Por eso años, también comenzó el poblamiento alrededor de la estación de Núñez y sobre la que hoy es la avenida Cabildo. Saavedra, en tanto, creció mucho con inauguración de estación Saavedra del ferrocarril y sus terrenos fueron loteados entre los años 1891 y 1892.

También estaba el Medrano, un típico arroyo de llanura que tenía agua cuando llovía y cuando no, era un canal vacío, una zanja.
