Tras dos décadas de trabajo, la entidad inaugurará su propio centro de diagnóstico y tratamiento multisensorial abierto a la comunidad
La Fundación de Ayuda Al Niño Discapacitado Auditivo (FANDA) es una entidad con 20 años de labor que surgió como herramienta para ayudar a niños con discapacidad auditiva que no tuvieran recursos económicos.
Hoy, después de muchos años de lucha y de trabajo para ayudar a niños con discapacidad auditiva, están cerca de inaugurar el centro de diagnostico y tratamiento multisensorial, un proyecto que les demandó poco más de diez años.
“Observábamos que los chicos que llegaban a la institución padecían, además, otras discapacidades conjuntas. La auditiva era solo una de las tantas y las madres luchaban para conseguir un centro donde se pudiera atender en forma integral al niño con este conjunto de déficits”, contó la Lic. Gina Romano, presidenta de FANDA.
En el año 2004, el proyecto del centro fue presentado a la Conadis y, cuatro años más tarde, fue aprobado. De esa manera, en 2008 se comenzó con la compra de los terrenos y la construcción del edificio. Desde la entidad recurrieron a empresas y fundaciones para ayudar con el financiamiento del equipamiento.
“Gracias a toda esta movida tan ardua y con la ayuda de la gente de la institución, se pudo terminar el edificio. El lanzamiento será pronto y esperamos que sea para el festejo de los 20 años de la entidad”, celebró Romano en diálogo con “Integrados desde Argentina al mundo” por Radio Arinfo.
Aunque la fundación solo apadrina a niños sin recursos, el centro también atenderá a niños y adultos con obras sociales o de forma privada.
En otro plano, la presidenta de FANDA anticipó que pronto van a iniciar un ciclo de charlas a la comunidad por los 20 años de la entidad, con el objetivo de que la gente “sepa todo lo que tiene a su disposición y todos los mecanismos para exigir sobre sus derechos como personas con discapacidad”.
“Si bien estamos abocados a la atención de las personas que padecen esta discapacidad, una de las luchas más importantes es la prevención. Lo que queremos es que no se instale esta deficiencia. Del total de los niños que comienzan con alguna patología de oído, el 50% puede ser reversible. Es importante que los padres estemos alerta: ante cualquier sospecha de que el niño tiene fallas de atención, no hay que descuidar el área auditiva”, cerró Romano desde los micrófonos de Radio Arinfo.
